Technology Influences in Learning Language

Fluency #4

Do you think that it is possible to learn a language by yourself? In the past days it was impossible; however, in these days it is possible. Technology is developing to the extent of doing things that humans can do. For instance, some computers are programmed to make some corrections if the learner makes some mistakes. Therefore, it encourages the learner to write more and express her/his thoughts without worrying about the mistakes. It also helps in correcting grammar order; thus, it empowers the learner to write and publish her/his work when there is nobody to correct it. Besides that, people can also practice how to pronounce some difficult words with strong accent. Therefore, all the things mentioned above manipulate and facilitate the learner to learn.

Tips to learn a new language

Fluency #3

A new language can be learnt in a pleasurable way. Do you know how? Many people thing think that a language can be only learnt in a language program. There are many ways to learn a new language, and one of them is through our hobbies. The first thing you have to do, for instance, if you are somebody who can only relax or likes to listen to the music is, instead of listening to the music in your own language, try listening in the language that you are learning. Before you start you will have to get the lyrics of the song; then, while you are listening, compare what you hear with what is written. Second, try to hang around with people who speak the language you are learning. Third, get a movie with its book or novel. Most of the time it is difficult to understand the accents and the words from the movie; therefore, the novel will help you to understand the difficult words and compare what is spoken with what is written. Fourth, practice the your new vocabulary words by using them while you are speaking. I am sure that if you will follow these tips you will learn your desired new language.

The Recommended City to Visit

Fluency #2

Do you have an idea about where Nelson Mandela spent twenty- seven years? If you do not, then you should visity Cape Town in South Africa. South Africa is in the south part of Africa; it shares its boders with Mozambique in the northwest along the Indian Ocean, with Zimbabwe and Botsana in the north and with Namibia in the northeast. Cape Town is one of the best cities to visity. It has nice beaches, big shops and kind people. The most interesting thing about Cape Town is the island close to it where Nelson Mandela was jailed for twenty-seven years, which is now a museum. It attracts many people around the world because of its history. Most of people are curious to see the sale or cabin where he spent all twenty-seven years without losing hope. I know that there is the possibility of seeing the prison's picture from the Internet or TV. However, it is not like being in the place. Obviously there is always a difference between what we see from TV or Internet and the real things. Therefore, in the you will have the opportunity to see the place where he lived, the kind of car that he used to use, and his clothes as well as the island where is situated the jail which is now a center of history.

Global Warming Solutions

Global warming solutions

In T. Hirsch (2005) ‘Animals hit by global warming,’ the author explains how environmental alterations are affecting the life of animals. First he gives example sex changes in turtles due to environmental changes. It has also modified the bird’s way of traveling from one place to another. Moreover, some animals are being seen in places where they should not be and others are being seen in seasons and places where they were not supposed to be by that time. Therefore, conferences are being held to find a solution to help animals in getting used to the modifications. Although, some animals are succeeding in suiting themselves to different conditions others are not capable of it due to their places being in cold regions. Although environmental alterations help animal development, they can also block them from learning different ways of living. Finally, the old ways of defending the animal like a habitat type must be modified because it can border them from not getting enough food.

All these things are happening because of global warming; then, to solve this problem industrialized countries should change their methods of production, and we can contribute by not burning the forests and driving less
.
First, in order to stop the global warming, industrialized countries should find any alternative way for producing their goods. As the industry is developing throughout the world, especially in developed countries, it is also damaging the ozone layer. The chemicals released by the industries such as carbon and methane are extremely harmful to the ozone layer. Consequently, these chemicals break the ozone chain, thus letting the ultra violet rays pass through. For instance, in my country an industry was recently opened . Most of the people who work in that industry and are exposed to the oven get liver cancer. In my country we usually experience three seasons, but these days there is only one season; moreover, the weather is getting hotter every day. Therefore, if we could find a different way of producing the same product without harming the ozone layer and animals, it would be a good start.

Second, another way to overcome global warming is to stop burning the forests. In the past days many people used to burn forests for agriculture. However, even now days some people are still using the same method for agriculture and production of coal. Thus, miles of forests are lost each year for this activity, and more carbon dioxide is realized. For example, in my country miles of forests are burnt almost every day for coal production. Forty percent of the population is still using coal for cooking. Although the country produces and imports gas and it is a little cheaper to afford to buy it, people do not want to stop using coal. Hence, from this example we can observe that at times we have the solution and any alternative way to solve the problem, but people simply do not want to take any action.

Third, if we drive less and walk more, it will put the living species in less danger. It is true that transport is very important in this society. However, many people are using it in an exaggerated way. For instance, some students drive on campus from Larson Hall to Faner, knowing that is easier to walk than to drive. Besides harming the ozone layer through the carbon dioxide realized by the car, they might also create some health problems due to the lack of walking. However, walking or riding a bicycle is healthier than driving, even when is not necessary.

As we might now know, global warming can also be prevented by industrialized countries, by stopping burning the forests and driving less. Some countries are now experiencing invadations of seawater. Therefore, due to inundation some people are losing their loved ones and places to stay. We never know when our turn will be, but it might be right now or in five seconds to come. Thus, any good action from us which does not contribute to global warming will make a change indeed.

Vacation

Anna's assign

I spent the all break in Carbondale. I only wished to have a lot of money so that I would first of all go to my country to see my relatives and friends. I used to think like if I were at home I would be at the beach with my friends praying or having fun. I can certainly assume that during this break I was physicaly in Carbondale but psychologycaly in my country.I liked because at least I maneged to travel psychologicaly to my country. Besides dreaming I had a walk on cumpos and out of compus which was unusual since I come. The amazing thing that happened is I sow an armadillo I confese that I have never seen it alive in my entire life. The other thing is that I had more time to visit my friends and go to African group.I used to think that Carbondale is very big but I realised tha is not because I used to go to different places around here by car. However, if we walk that is when we realize tha these places are not far. In short I did not have much to do during the break but I enjoed.

Travel

Fluency #1

To travel by car is more exciting to me. First of all, traveling by car can let me stop whenever I want. Most times during the journey I usually see nice shops selling cloths and beauty products; then, if I see interesting items I only stop the car and buy them. Moreover, most restaurants and hotels are along the road; therefore, whenever I feel like tasting food from a place I can stop and get it. In addition, after finishing eating I have the opportunity to move around to get to know the culture, how the place is built and what kind of language is being spoken in that specific area. Furthermore, when the car is moving I feel good watching people, the environment and things that will be taking place like people walking, driving, running and having fun. By the we are out of town and getting into the countryside I like to watch animal that are alive and the real nature which is different from that on TV. Thus, to see how cities are built and to watch the live nature and the things found in it like animals and people make traveling by car more interesting to me.
